An incredible project in Cameroon with a completely new technology for roofs
Dr. Elmar Stachels a german investor, entrepreneur and founder of his own African startup AMC African Mobility Company describes the huge positive impact of the AMABO Project for the region of Tiko, Douala and the whole Country of Cameroon.
🌍 Local innovation: the Cameroon project is an outstanding example of how creative technologies and local resources can be used to make a real difference. The starting point is the use of materials that were previously considered waste and often remained unused. These materials are transformed into durable, stable, high-quality products using innovative processes. The emphasis is not only on creating environmentally-friendly solutions, but also on promoting the local economy. Local production creates jobs directly on site, which in turn leads to tangible economic growth. By generating income for many families, living conditions improve and the region’s economic growth is sustainably strengthened.
🤝 Cohesion and security: although the region is considered dangerous and often associated with security issues, the project has succeeded in creating a safe and trusting environment. This was made possible by a community-based approach actively involving local residents. Building trust within the community helped to create a sense of belonging. In particular, 30 young men, known as “Amber Boys”, were employed, which not only improved their financial situation, but also contributed to social stability. These 30 employees indirectly support around 300 families, illustrating the project’s far-reaching social and economic impact. The integration of indigenous people has also helped to create a peaceful and safe working environment by strengthening the sense of security in the region.

Not only does it provide solutions to the region’s hot, sweltering climate by developing products that stand up to harsh weather conditions, but it also fosters a warm, welcoming community atmosphere. The contribution to social security should not be underestimated: thanks to employment and the resulting financial security, social tensions are reduced. The project thus acts as a catalyst for sustainable development, combining ecological innovation with economic and social responsibility.
